§ 01The problem

Your church does not have a software problem. It has a knowing problem.

Most church management systems were built for transactions: giving, attendance, room scheduling. They track what people did. They cannot tell you who they are.

Pastors and team leaders end up doing the work the software should. Remembering names. Guessing at gifts. Hand-matching people to groups. Watching new attenders disappear before anyone connects with them.

The opposite of disengagement is not another program. It is being known.

§ 02What it does

Three things, done seriously.

Understand

A profile worth reading.

Built-in assessments for personality, spiritual gifts, DISC, and Enneagram. Custom intake forms for the questions only you ask. Every member ends up with a profile a leader can actually use.

450+ data points per member

Match

Recommendations you can defend.

A two-stage matching engine. Deterministic rules handle the clear filters like geography, life stage, and availability. Semantic search handles the rest. Every recommendation arrives with a written explanation, not a black-box score.

2-stage scoring and reasoning

Mobilize

From profile to next step.

Groups, serving roles, mentorship pairings, courses, events. Members move through your discipleship pathway because the system surfaces the right opportunity at the right moment. Not because someone remembered to send an email.

§ 03Inside the matching engine

AI you can read, not just trust.

Most AI matching tools return a single score with no audit trail. DiscipleIQ separates the two jobs AI is good at and shows its work on both.

pgvector · Your secure, trained AI · Postgres
01

Embeddings for semantic similarity

Every profile and every opportunity is encoded as a vector. Finding the right mentor for a specific person becomes a real query, not a hand-tagged guess.

02

Rules for the hard requirements

Same campus. Available on Tuesday nights. Has childcare. Not currently overloaded. These are filters, not probabilities. They belong in SQL, and that is where we keep them.

03

Your secure, trained AI writes the explanation

Every match comes with two or three sentences a pastor can read before forwarding. Why this person. Why now. Where the friction might be. No black box.

04

Admins stay in the loop

Matches above your confidence threshold send automatically. Everything below queues for a leader to review, edit, or override. You set the threshold.

§ 04Mentor pool

A curated network of 24,000 Christian leaders.

When your own roster does not have the right mentor for a member, DiscipleIQ extends the search to a vetted, opt-in pool of pastors, seminarians, ministry leaders, and Christian professionals across the country. Same matching engine. Same explanation. Wider reach.

  • Consent-only outreach. Never cold spam.
  • License-aware access controls
  • Refreshed quarterly against source data
  • Available on Growth and Kingdom tiers
§ 05Integrations

Works with Planning Center.

DiscipleIQ does not ask you to replace the church management system your staff already knows. Two-way sync with Planning Center keeps people, custom fields, and group membership aligned. No copying. No spreadsheets. No double entry.

Ministry Platform, Fellowship One, and Breeze are on the V2 roadmap. For other systems, our open API gets you there.

§ 07Voices from the field

From the people using it.

We are using DiscipleIQ in our Next Steps classes for new people. It has been a great way to get to know newcomers and help them get plugged into serving quickly.

DIQ has brought a better self-understanding for our students, faculty, and staff. It lets me survey the strengths and weaknesses of our campus and know how to engage them to meet our mission.
Keith RoachPresident · Summit Christian University
DiscipleIQ has helped our organization think more expansively and intentionally about how we gain wisdom from good data. We are asking better questions and trying new things as a result.

§ 08Trust

Boring infrastructure choices, on purpose.

Member data and assessment results are sensitive. We picked the most defensible stack we could find and put it behind the controls your IT lead will ask about.

Supabase Postgres

Single system of record. Daily backups. Point-in-time recovery on the Pro plan.

Row-level security

Tenant isolation enforced at the database layer, not in application code. One less category of bug.

Encrypted tokens

Planning Center OAuth tokens stored in Supabase Vault, scoped per tenant.

Stripe payments

All transactions PCI compliant by default. Subscriptions, one-time payments, and refunds handled cleanly.

Encryption and MFA

SSL across the platform. MFA required for admin and super-admin accounts.

Consent-only outreach

No cold spam to mentors. Every outbound message is invited or opted into.

§ 09FAQ

Common questions.

How does DiscipleIQ work with the church management system we already use?

We offer two-way sync with Planning Center. People, custom fields, and group membership stay aligned automatically. Ministry Platform, Fellowship One, and Breeze are on the V2 roadmap. For other systems, our open API and embed widgets cover most use cases.

What does AI matching actually mean here?

Two things. First, every profile and opportunity is encoded as a semantic vector, which surfaces non-obvious good fits. Second, your secure, trained AI writes a plain-language explanation for every recommendation. Why this person. Why now. Where the friction might be. Admins control the auto-approve threshold. Everything below it queues for review.

Is the mentor pool real opt-in mentors, or just a contact list?

Real and opt-in. The pool starts with curated leader data, and we run a consent workflow before any mentor receives outreach. Foundation tenants do not access the pool. Growth tenants can match to it. Kingdom tenants run their own outbound recruiting.

How is our data secured?

Hosted on Supabase Postgres with daily backups and point-in-time recovery. Tenant isolation is enforced at the database layer through row-level security. Integration tokens are encrypted in Supabase Vault. SSL across the platform. MFA required for admin roles. Payments processed through Stripe for PCI compliance.

Do we need a dedicated app?

No. DiscipleIQ is a progressive web app. Same experience on phones, tablets, and desktops. Native iOS and Android apps sit on the longer-term roadmap, not in V1.

What does pricing look like?

We bill per tier through Stripe. Foundation, Growth, or Kingdom, based on what you turn on. Monthly or annual options available. Non-profit and tax-deductible pricing offered. Book a call for a real number on your church.

Spend less time guessing. Spend more time discipling.

Thirty minutes with our team. We will show you the platform, answer the questions you have, and tell you honestly whether DiscipleIQ fits your church or organization.
